First Aid/CPR/AED

Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid training courses are designed for the lay person to build confidence in recognizing and responding to emergencies. This course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, or infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate is issued.

This course is highly customizable. It can be conducted with just “adult,” “infant,” or “pediatric” content. Likewise, it can be modified to include just CPR, just AED, or just first aid, or pick any two!

Courses are offered in two formats:

  • Instructor Led: All information is presented in person along with a skills practice session.
  • Blended learning: A portion of this class is done online at your own pace on your own schedule. The online portion must be completed prior to the in person component. The in person component focuses on skills practice and knowledge checks.

Class length depends on course format and the specific material being covered. Please see individual class descriptions for estimated class length.

What if you don’t want to sit through an entire course?

  • Already certified and want to take a shorter class to renew? Request a “review course,” which is a bit shorter than a full course. Individuals with a certificate that is expired by less than 30 days are also eligible for review courses.
  • Have you already completed an online Red Cross course in CPR, AED, or first aid? Request a “skills session” to practice and be assessed on the hands on portion of CPR, AED, and/or first aid.
  • Think you can pass all the assessment scenarios without taking a course? Request a “challenge course.” Anyone is eligible to participate in a challenge course. This is the shortest and cheapest way to be certified, however, individuals who do not pass the assessment scenarios will not be allowed to re-challenge and must take the full course to be certified.
